Methodist Church to build SHS at Kurofa

The Methodist Church is building a Senior High School at Kurofa near Morso in the Asante-Akim South District to bring second cycle education to the community. The project now at the foundation level is being funded through the churchs own resources. The Right Reverend Professor Osei Sarfo-Kantanka, Methodist Bishop for Kumasi, at a fund-raising durbar in aid of the project, said on completion, it would serve students who otherwise would not have been able to attend schools outside their locality due to financial constraints. The benefits would be enormous and that is why they would do everything to ensure its early completion. He said Christianity goes beyond attending church service and singing praises, for it is about service to humanity. The Rev Prof Sarfo-Kantanka appealed to the congregation to sacrifice part of their time and resources towards the implementation of the project and pledged the churchs determination to partner with state to bring development to the people. Mr De-graft Fokuo, the District Chief Executive, commended the church for the initiative to make SHS education accessible to the people. The assembly, he said, would support the project and made a personal donation of 20 bags of cement and GH300.00 towards the project.
