Labour Commission To Meet FWSC, Striking Parties Today

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) have expressed the assurance that it will reach a consensus with the doctors and Pharmacists, when they meet at the National Labour Commission today. The National Labour Commission (NLC) has invited all parties to appear before it, to find a lasting solution to the labour agitations. Speaking to Citi News, Public Affairs Director of the FWSC, Earl Ankrah, said the commission was hopeful the media war between it and the striking parties after the meeting. The important thing is when the parties are talking to figure out the way forward. What does not augur well is when things are apart, and things are out there, but the moment we gather around a table looking at a situation of controversy then that is ok by Friday, we are meeting the National Labour Commission, he stated. He further went on to mention that, agreeing with the pharmacists will bring certain ramifications to the health and public sector. With the issue concerning the pharmacists, we are in court, and they want a certain adjustment in the grading structure, but we disagree because we think that will bring ramifications to the entire health and public sector, he said. . When it comes out in the media, it sounds alarming, but on the ground, things are moving quite well although we have a minor disagreement, he added.
