NMCP To Introduce Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention Programme In Upper West

The National Malaria Control Programme, NMCP, is to introduce the Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention programme in the Upper West Region. This is because, the parasite prevalence in children under five years in that region is very high compared to other regions. The National Coordinator of the NMCP, Vivian Aubyn, disclosed this at a forum in Accra to commemorate this year's World Malaria Day which fell on the 25th of last month. Madam Aubyn said the programme will be done in a cycle of four months beginning from the raining season where the parasite load is high.
