Communication Analyst, Paul Adom Otchere has charged journalists to develop capacity and stay abreast with the issues that determine the political dynamics of the country as Ghana marks World Press Freedom day. The day is set aside by the United Nations (UN) to raise awareness on the importance of freedom of the press and to remind governments of their duty to respect and uphold the right to freedom of expression. Mr Adom-Otchere noted: �Political establishments have sort of penetrated the media in a manner that is a bit over bearing so you have the politicians speaking through the Journalists and you have the platform of the newspaper system where that kind of practice is expressed.� According to him, though journalists across the country can hold partisan views, they must be capable of expressing an in depth knowledge of the subjects under discussion. �Media personnel can have a political sort of side to the issue but we should be able to present that side, that political partisan side from a position of expertise from a position of research and from a position of proper understanding of the systems that work in our country.�
