Eastern Region needs concerted effort for rapid development Minister

Ms Helen Adjoa Ntoso, the Eastern Regional Minister, has urged all heads of department to make concerted efforts to ensure rapid development in all parts of the region. She observed that the region had great potentials to move forward politically, socially and economically, adding But that would depend on our concerted positive attitude to work to bring the desired results. Ms Ntoso was speaking to heads of department in both Akuapem North and South District Assemblies at separate functions during a familiarization tour recently. She entreated the staff at the assemblies to allow unity to exist among them so that they could work formidably as one people to build their respective districts. The Regional Minister also charged the heads of department to ensure cooperation among themselves and to train their subordinates to be able to act in their absence to ensure smooth continuity of developmental goals in the districts. Some people are not open at all to their subordinates and so when they are not around everything becomes static and development is hampered, she said. Ms Ntoso said the Region could be an icon over the other regions in the country considering the availability of the vast natural resources if only there is unity, love and respect for one another. She charged the staff to report persons who showed lackadaisical attitude towards work for appropriate actions to be taken against. But I do not want any backbiting and gossip against one another. As part of the tour, Ms Ntoso inspected some on-going projects in the two districts. They include an Information Communication Technology (ICT) Training Centre, which is near completion at Dawu, a four unit three semi-detached teachers bungalow at Okuapemman Senior High School and the two kilometer Aburi-Nsawam road.
