HIV Patients Must Channel Their Grievances To The Fair Wages And Salaries Commission - GHOSPA

The Government and Hospitals Pharmacists (GHOSPA) have asked HIV patients to channel their grievances to the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission instead of GHOSPA. GHOSPA has declined to return to work although their strike has had a negative toll on persons leaving with HIV. The pharmacists as part of the strike withdrew services amongst others to Mental Patients and HIV patients. Citi News, checks reveal that persons living with HIV have run out of anti-retroviral drugs that were supplied to them before the pharmacists embarked on strike. Some of the patients who spoke to Citi News appealed to the pharmacists to return to work, since they fear what the effects of their drugs would have on them. Meanwhile the General Secretary of GHOSPA Franklin Acheampong, has asked the HIV patients to address their grievances to the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission. If the patients are in need now, we didnt expect it to get this far. They should address their issues and concerns to the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and especially to the Chief Executive who is refusing to implement the ruling of the National Labour Commission (NLC)" he said. According to him, when the ruling is implemented, members of GHOSPA would return to work and work efficiently.
