Mahama Applaud Christian Churches For Their Support To The State In Both Spiritual And Material

President John Dramani Mahama, has lauded the leadership in church of the Christian churches in Ghana for their support to the state both in spiritual and material. He admitted that even though it is the primary responsibilities of the government to provide schools, water, food, hospitals etc to the people, most Christian churches in the country in their small ways providing these needs in addition to their spiritual support. President Mahama urged the churches to do more as government also focuses on areas to help promote the growth of the country. He made these remarks in his speech at the 40th General Counsel Meeting of The Church of Pentecost at their newly constructed convention centre made up of 250 acres of land space at Gomoa Feteh in the Central Region. President Mahama also stated that, government is not sleeping over the current load-shedding of energy even though it has improved dramatically. He added that gov�t is doing what it can to drastically improve the situation. Also, the chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Opoku Onyina, in his speech on the theme of the convention �worshiping in spirit and truth� called on Ghanaians to have trust in the Supreme Court to administer justice. He also called on all the parties involved in the ongoing Election Petitions to accept the final verdict of the Supreme Court in order to enjoy the peace we are enjoying now. He added, it is the vision of his government to generate about 2000 megawatt of power for the next 10 years to meet the growing demand of energy in Ghana. He stated again that, government will soon complete the Atsuabu Gas plant to strengthen the energy and gas security to improve the energy sector.
