It Is No Longer Safe To Live In Kumasi Kofi Jumah

Former NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has said citizens in the Kumasi Metropolis are no longer in safe hands of the Ghana Police Service due to the recent uprising in the metropolis. According to him, the current fierceness happening in Kumasi must be blamed on the police service personnel in Kumasi since their inability to deal with perpetrators has been the cause of all the violence. What is happening in Kumasi now must not happen in this modern era. I know for a fact that the previous government wouldnt let such violence to happen twice in Kumasi. The police know for a fact that the deceased (Gauso) who was alleged of killing someone was on a run and hiding in Ashanti New Town, Kumasi. What prevented the police from arresting the deceased long ago before his untimely death? Do we have police in the Ashanti Region or not? If all this turmoil can go on, then the people in Kumasi have to worry because its just recent when a gang went on a shooting spray on motor bikes in Kumasi...Citizens are now worried and not safe to live in Kumasi, he said on Adom FM. Two persons were reported dead Wednesday from gunshot and machete wounds inflicted by unknown assailants at Ashtown, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Hello FMs Sampson Nyamekye reported that the two, one of whom died while being transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the other on arrival at the hospital, have been identified as Victor Ocran and Kwadwo Asamoah, also known as Gauso. The two were set upon in broad-daylight while at a drinking spot by persons on motorbikes and others in a vehicle. The Public Relations Officer of the Ashanti Regional Police Command,ASP Yussif Tanko further said the deceased was said to have led a gang to attack some persons in the area during the house to house campaign tour of Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Member of Parliament for Manhyia South prior to the 2012 elections. But however,Kofi Jumah believed Its not the issue about the fight among the gangs but rather the Ghana Police not performing their duties well. They are not handling issues well; they (the police) are disgracing the people in Kumasi for their inability to handle simple issues.
