Hopeson Adorye, a member of the NPP�s Communication team, has claimed in an interview with Peacefmonline.com that he is reliably informed that the current government, led by President Mahama, has put in place mechanisms to build a defense wall against the petition filed by Nana Addo, Jake Obestebi-Lamptey and Dr. Bawumia at the Supreme Court, by awarding other presidential candidates who want to be used by government with juicy packages. Hopeson Adorye singled out Hassan Ayariga, the 2012 presidential candidate of the People�s National Convention, as one who has immensely benefited from government after he had successful diverted the attention of Nana Akufo-Addo during the IEA debate. As a result of this, Mr. Adorye claimed on Oman FM last Thursday that government had issued a valid license to Hassan Ayariga to import �crude� into the country. This claim was flatly denied by Hassan Ayariga, who swore by the heavens that such a contract didn�t exist. Mr. Ayariga is on record to have said in an interview that: �I haven�t heard of it; I think this is the first time I�m hearing of it. I think that if I�ve been given an offer, the media will be the first people to hear because I will have to have a press conference to thank the Government of Ghana for giving me that power or authority�. But Mr. Adorye told Peacefmoline.com that �Hassan Ayariga should address the issue well. No one has spoken about an appointment, what I said was that he has been issued license to import crude and other related finished oil products into the country. I can say on authority that Hassan Ayariga has been given the license to import crude into the country�. �Before Kufour left office, there were only ten companies responsible for importing crude into the country, as soon as President Mahama took over, he added another ten of which Hassan Ayariga is part,� he said. He ended by submitting that President Mahama is on the verge of awarding leaders of the other smaller parties with juicy contracts because they are doing the bidding of government. He mentioned names such as; Madam Akua Donkor and Akwasi Addai Odike, the Presidential candidate of the United Front Party (UFP) are among candidates who have received their share of the package.
