NETRIGHT sympathises with Kantamanto traders

The Network for Womens Rights in Ghana (NETRIGHT) has extended its sympathies to affected traders in the Kantamanto market fire disaster. A statement issued in Accra and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday asked the affected traders to remain calm and united as effective framework is put in place to stem the recurring fire outbreaks. We observe with deep disquiet the manner in which the post fire issues are being handled and particularly the hostility towards the traumatised traders, NETRIGHT said. The statement called for extreme restraint and caution against any positions that are likely to polarise and undermine trust and confidence between the traders and government. We also wish to caution against opportunistic attempts by others to make political gain out of the loss of the unfortunate traders, it added.
