Live Telecast of Court Proceedings Has Broadened My Horizon Kofi Jumah

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has expressed ecstasy to have witness the first ever live telecast of a court proceedings in the history of Ghana. The first ever live telecast of the 2012 presidential election petition was made possible when Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood issued directives to the presiding judges who okayed the court proceeding to be aired live on television and radio. I am really happy to watch the court proceedings live on television. I am really excited because I never knew such arguments goes on in the court among the lawyers and judges, not me alone, I know most people will confirm to that, we dont see these things in court had it not been the live telecast. Frankly speaking I support my brother, Joe Ghartey for his call to the Attorney Generals Office and Ghana Bar Association to approve a live telecast on corruption cases. I fully support him because the live telecast has really helped, Kofi Jumah told Adom FM. According to the former Kumasi mayor, there is no tension in the court room as supposed by the viewers when counsels of both parties exchange words to back their evidence. I dont think there is any tension in the court room as we think. Its just the battle among legal luminaries to defend their parties. They (Lawyers) understand their language in the court room and its not offensive that a learned friend will tell his colleague to shut up or a judge will tell a lawyer to sit down. Its all part of their work. If you go out of the way, the judge is supposed to guide you. It helps, he said. However, candid Kofi Jumah is pleased with the court proceedings and hoping for the best. I am really enjoying the proceedings but I will advise the NPP party to pay Tsatsu Tsikata when they are paying their lawyers, he said.
