The group also expressed its conviction towards the auditing firms capability of executing the task professionally. Although KPMG offers its service free of charge to Ghana in this case, we expect KPMG to execute this exercise professionally. It is our conviction that having regard to the issue at stake, KPMGs professional staff (local and foreign) will act independently within the meaning of the Auditing Practices and within International Standards. The letter stated. The group concluded with its anticipation to give a deserving tumultuous applause to KPMG on their accomplishment of this task. Ghanaians Abroad for Open Justice (Ghafoj) is Ghanaian civil right group based in The Netherlands with representatives in around the globe. Last week Ghanas Supreme Court ordered the audit of the pink sheets to ascertain whether the Petitioners indeed submitted 11,842 pink sheets to the Court. This was at the instance of Mr. Tsatsu Tsikata, lead Counsel for the Third Respondent, National Democratic Congress. He claims the pink sheets fell short by 3,337. The cost of the audit was estimated at 1000.00 US dollars. In a good will gesture KPMG, an International accounting firm offered to audit the pink sheets tendered in evidence by the Petitioners to prove allegations of rigging against the Respondents over the 2012 general elections free of charge. KPMG is expected to complete its audit of the pink sheets in two weeks.
