Founder of the Salt and Light Ministry, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, has called on Christians to lead the crusade on peace to enable the country develop.
According to her, peace comes with comfort and freedom.
Dr. Aryee said this at the Women�s Day celebration of the Tema First Baptist Church over the weekend.
She noted that Africans are bedeviled with diseases such as malaria, measles and other preventable diseases because they have failed to appreciate God�s peace and love for mankind.
She also noted that as a nation, �we need to get closer to God to overcome all problems since God�s plans cannot be thwarted.�
Dr. Aryee noted that as Christians, �we must show love, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, self-control, gentleness and patience as these were the virtues of Christ.�
�We need to have the peace of mind to reflect upon the spirit of Christ in us to enable as show who we are as Christians, she said.
Dr. Aryee therefore called on Christians to see Christianity as a way of life and not a mere religion.
President of the Tema Baptist Women�s Missionary Union, Mrs. Christiana Owusu-Koranteng, stated that they help empower women, deal with domestic violence, and also promote spiritual growth.
She said they also undertake educational programs for the young women in the church.
She also said the Union annually gives support to hospitals and have adopted a school in Frankadua where freed Trokosis are taking through apprenticeship training in various skills.
She however encouraged young women in the church to join the Union and benefit both physically and spiritually.
