Omari Wadie Shows Remorse For Posting Prez Mahama Photos

Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has condemned the way and manner Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) arrested Micheal Omari Wadie, former constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Omari Wadie was arrested at the Kotoka Airport over a doctored photo of President John Mahama; which he uploaded on Whatsapp. Even though he has condemned the circulation of such frivolous photos of the President, Kweku Baako feels the bureau should have handled the case more responsibly. According to him, even though their (BNI) motive of investigating the issue was right, they should have invited him to their office for interrogation and not pounce on him at the Airport; using a Rambo style approach. I think the arrest was unnecessarythey should have invited him if they thought the issue was worth investigating. I dont have any problem with investigations, it is better to find the culprits and name and shame. It would have been irresponsible if we had left it. We have to condemn it However, in democracy sometimes the methods used in solving issues helps in enhancing the democracy; for instance, if they had invited him, he would have gone with his lawyer and the issue will be well trashed out so that if then any arrest will be made it will be donethese are things that does not lead to upheaval. In the process you make the man the centre of attraction unduly, he told host Kwami Sefa-Kayi on the Kokrokoo Morning Show On Peace FM. He however, condemned Omari Wadie for posting the images on social media. According to him, immediately he received the pictures, he should have deleted it. He also indicated that after talking to him on phone, he realised that Omari Wadie has regretted for posting those images. There is no way one can endorse what is going on; its a disaster. That particular culture is condemnable. Even though we dont have any evidence to support it, it is clear that some infantile mischief makers are behind it. Omari Wadies problem is posting it on Whatsapp after receiving it. Even if he was not the originator, the fact that he posted it makes it condemnable. As far as I am concerned he has shown some remorse for posting the images and thats ok. he noted.
