School Named After Sam Jonah

The African University College of Communication (AUCC) is naming its new Business School after internationally renowned Ghanaian businessman, Dr. Sam Jonah. The Executive Chairman of Jonah Capital, an equity fund based in Johannesburg, South Africa and former President of Anglogold Ashanti met the Executive Chairman and Founder of the University, Mr. Kojo Yankah on Wednesday June 5, 2013 and accepted to have the school bear his name. Sir Jonah pledged that he will lay at the door of the School, all that he knows, adding: Let us focus on the price about what you want to achieve and want to dare to be different, thinking out of the box. I will be quite engaging with you to ensure that the programmes we endeavour to achieve shall make the school the Business School of Choice throughout the Continent of Africa for a starter. AUCC was established in 2001, initially as the Africa Institute of Journalism and Communications (AIJC) by Mr. Yankah, a former Legislator and Minister of State of state. In November 2007, with a population of 300 students, AIJC was accredited to offer a four-year B.A. degree programme in Communication Studies, under its new name, African University College of Communications.
