Michael Essien Jets Home From London Today

Celebrated Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien is expected to fly home this evening from London for his �Baby�- Game of Hope scheduled for the Accra Stadium this Saturday. Kick-off is 3pm. Soccer greats such as Real Madrid�s Luca Modrich, former Germany captain Michael Ballack, Florent Malouda, Fabrice Muamba, Didier Drogba, Emmanuel Adebayor and others, will, however, arrive in the country tomorrow evening. The game, themed �The Michael Essien Foundation Game of Hope and inspiration� is the second in the series after a successful maiden edition which drew stars such as Ashley Cole, Florent Malouda, Emmanuel Adebayor, among others, who defied the rains on the day to descend on the Accra Stadium. Aimed at raising funds for yet-to-be named five African charities, the game would be played between an African IX and World IX, Essien has pledged to fly down some Real Madrid, Chelsea as well as African Stars for the game. According to the organisers, Michael Essien Foundation, Essien, the AU Peace Ambassador, will lead his counterparts for a visit at the presidency to pay a courtesy call on president John Mahama at the Flag Staff House on Saturday morning, which would be followed by a press conference at the Labadi Beach Hotel. Preceding the big game is a high profile cocktail intended to foster the already healthy relationship among the players at the Labadi Beach Hotel tomorrow evening. Top artists from the local as well as the international fronts are billed to perform after the game to raise funds for charity. Rates for the game are �100, �40, �20 and �10 for the VIP, The Wings, May 9 and Popular Stands respectively.
