David Duncan Is Not Leaving Hearts Of Oak

Chairman of the National Chapters Committee and director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Moro Akanbi has sturdily debunked speculations from some sections of the media that head Coach David Duncan would exit the club at the end of 2012/2013 Glo Premier league season. According to him, though there have been some difficulties, the club will still maintain David Duncan at the helm of affairs. I spoke to David and he has no intention of leaving the club so I dont know where these speculations are coming from. Honestly, no board member joins Duncan on some assignments. I have pleaded with him (Duncan) to forgive us the management for not been supportive. He told me he was not happy but it wasnt our intentions not to support him, he said. It is alleged that David Duncan confirmed to Happy FMs Charles Osei Asibe, a sports journalist that management of Accra Hearts of Oak are not supportive and he is unhappy with certain issues so therefore made up his mind to exit the club. But speaking to Happy FM, Alhaji Akanbi stated: Whoever will say management is not supportive to Duncan, I will not believe that. Asked by the host of the show if management of Accra Hearts of Oak will be surprise if David Duncan exit the club after the season, Akanbi further said It can never happen. Provided some of us are there, anything of that nature will never happen. Anything can happen anyway but Duncan leaving Hearts of Oak for now; I dont think it will happen. I can tell you for real that Duncan is not leavingHe is our coach, he insisted. David Duncan took over Accra Hearts of Oak from former Black Stars captain CK Akunnor when the club was battling relegation. Currently, Accra Hearts of Oak sits 7th on the Glo league table with 43 points.
