Prez Mahamas Visit To The UK Will Be Fruitful Kofi Jumah

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, says he strongly believes President John Dramani Mahamas visit to the United Kingdom (UK) will be productive to the country in terms of developments. According to him, despite his political affiliation, the visit will strengthen relationship between the two countries as well as open up more opportunities for business ventures. If the President is on national assignment, my position on that is more Ghanaian than political. The president is not going to represent neither himself nor his party. He is going to represent Ghana. I expect him to represent Ghana so as those who will deal with him will deal with him as the president of Ghana not as the leader of a political party, he said. The former MP, who claim not to be happy with how some foreigners conduct their business in the country, urged the President to find appropriate ways of dealing with the issue by taking a cue from recent incident involving Chinese nationals in Ghana alleged to be practicing galamsey. Mr. Jumah is very optimistic that Britain will once again be of help to Ghana as done in erstwhile Kufuors era where huge sums of monies were given to help address maternal mortality. President John Dramani left Accra on Wednesday for London at an invitation from British Prime Minister, David Cameron. The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral talks at No. 10 Downing Street before joining other heads of state and government from Africa at the Lancaster House on Saturday for the G8 Summit on Tax, Trade & Transparency. President Mahama will also attend the Trooping Colourful event to mark the official birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. Its an honor for Ghanaians that our own president has been invited to attend Queen Elizabeths birthday. We should not politicize this, he advised on Adom FM.
