Ghanaian Duo Baffour, Abubakar Training With South African Side Wits University

Ghanaian duo of Mumuni Abubakar and Emmanuel Baffour have been spotted training with the first team of South African top-flight side Wits University. The two players are seeking to revive their career in the South Africa PSL after failing to make an impact with Mamelodi Sundowns in their first season in the country. The two players are contracted to Mamelodi Sundowns until June 2014, but the duo are thought not to be in Pitso Mosimanes plans for the new season. A Siya Crew source confirmed the presence of the pair at Wits training ground today, Tuesday, June 25. Wits University coach Gavin Hunt has respect for Ghanaian players after grooming Edwin Gyimah into one of the leagues hottest player. Now he is seeking to give a chance to Baffour and Abubakar Abubakar, a Ghana junior international midfielder up until U23 level, made no appearances for Downs in 2012/13. Baffour, a Ghana B international striker, made just three. With Downs squad already fairly over inflated with personnel, it seems clear that a move elsewhere makes sense for the pair. Gavin Hunt is expected to run the rule over both players, as Wits go through their pre-season training preparations.
