Shata Wale Finally Agrees To Perform On Bass Awards 2013

Ghanas most talked-about Danacehall and Reggae act of the last quarter Bandana, will perform at the maiden edition of the Bass Awards nominees Jam on July 5. Enewsgh.com reports that Bandana has agreed to a contract to perform, and will take to the stage in few days to prove why he is the Dancehall King of Ghanaian music. The news comes as a surprise to most observers, as the artiste had refused to be part of the scheme, failing to submit his works to be considered for nominations. His decision to stay away from the scheme came at a point when he was still recovering from public backlash over his disorderly behaviour at the Ghana Music Awards in May, where he had openly protested over an award he believed he won but was handed to fellow act Kaakie. His popularity and underground fan base has since increased these past few weeks, becoming a sought-after act. The maiden edition of the Bass Awards comes off on July 6 at the National Theatre. It will however be preceded by a nominees jam on May 5. Jamaican Dancehall act Elephant Man and Nigerias General Pype alongside a Ghanaian line-up that include Samini, Stonebwoy, Kaakie, Jupita, Eazzy, Black Rasta, Black Prophet, and NaturalFaCe will perform to thousands of patrons. OKAY FM Presenter Abeiku Santana will host the nominees Jam. The BASS Awards is supported by Bullhaus Entertainment and Solid Multimedia.
