Ghana Remains Our Bogey Side - US Goalkeeper

American goalkeeper Cropper Cody suspects his country has been jinxed wondering why US sides are often subdued by their Ghanaian counterparts in football competitions. Speaking to the Daily Graphic at the Hilton Hotel in Kayseri hours after the Black Satellites thrashed USA 4-1 last Thursday, Cody said he was wondering why American teams had not been able to overcome their hoodoo. There appears to be a jinx in all this, because we have always been beaten by Ghana and today we lost this crucial as well, said the young goalie. I mean we came to this tournament in particular to win something for the country, but very unfortunately things have turned this way. This is one particular match that we thought we could win for America and do something in the competition, he lamented. Codys phobia for Ghana is reinforced by two recent losses suffered by USA at both the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cup tourneys where the Black Stars beat USA 2-1 in a group clash and at quarter-final respectively.
