Avoid Statements That Threaten National Peace Agyapong

Mr Frank Opoku Agyapong, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Brong Ahafo Region, has advised Ghanaians to guard against statements that threaten national peace. He said as an independent body and the highest court of the land, Ghanaians should allow the Supreme Court to decide on the election petition and avoid comments and remarks that could prejudice the verdict of the court. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Sunyani on Saturday, Mr Agyapong lauded the neutrality of the Supreme Court since it began hearing on the election petition. He condemned the irresponsible comments made by some political party followers, stating that if such comments were not stopped it could affect national stability. Mr Agyapong advised supporters of the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to be tolerant and endeavour to accept the ruling of the Supreme Court.
