Wakaso's Move To England Closer After Improved Offer From Swansea

Espanyol star Mubarak Wakasos proposed move to English Premier League club Swansea is a step closer after the Swans improved their offer for the Ghanaian midfielder. The Espanyol hard-tackling mdifielder was on the verge of joining Swansea earlier this week but their offer of 4m Euros was knocked back following late negotiations. GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal that coach Michael Laudrup has improved his offer to 5m Euros which is likely to be accepted by the cash-strapped Spanish club. The Swans were in the final stages of negotiations with Espanyol for the 22-year-old following the capture of Jordi Amat from the same Spanish side. Swansea will now await a response from Espanyol over the latest offer. GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal that the only other offer on the table for Wakaso is from Russian club Rubin Kazan but the Ghanaian is not willing to move to Russia. Espanyol would be receiving around 5m Euros for the transfer of the Ghana international but half of that amount will be going to Villareal who have a 50% stake in the player. Wakaso emerged one of the star performers for Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations where he finished the competition as joint-top scorer. He has since been reportedly tracked by Italian giants Inter Milan with notable mentions of an interest also from Valencia and Wigan but no offer was tabled.
