Sellas Tetteh Should Be Held Responsible For Black Satellites Defeat

Outspoken Sports Journalist and Editor-In-Chief of Footy-ghana.com, Christopher Opoku is of the view that, Ghanas Under-20 head coach, Sellas Tettehs tactics during Wednesdays semi-final game against France caused Ghanas defeat. According to him, despite Sellass effort to have reached the medal zone of the ongoing tournament, the Satellites inability to play in the finals was due to his mistakes. Yes, in as much as we have praised him (Sellas Tetteh) for reaching the last four, we have to hold him responsible for not taking the opportunity of going to the finals. Because he (Sellas) made the same tactical mistake in the first game on Wednesday against the same opposition (France), it is very hard to understand, he bemoaned on Happy FM. He noted that Sellas Tettehs choice of players against France was tactically wrong and that he and the technical team are to be blamed for failing to repeat what he did in 2009 by lifting the trophy on Africa soil. If you have done well and have an opportunity to do better and you throw that opportunity away, it is very painful. If France outplayed Ghana to beat us, that wouldnt be painful, but for us to make wrong tactical selection to give the game away, that is what we have to talk about so that next time it will not be repeated, he advised. Ghana's hope of a final place at the FIFA U-20 World Cup was dashed on Wednesday as the Black Satellites lost 2-1 to France on Wednesday. Ghana will now play Iraq for the third place position on Saturday as France reach their first ever final and will come face to face with Uruguay.
