Now it is certain that the editor of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper who was incarcerated for ten days would be released from Nsawam Medium Prison in the Eastern Region on July 11, 2013 around 9:00 a.m.
It is also certain that his reporters and other staff working under him at his powerful newspaper will be holding a welcome party for him as together all celebrates the anchor man's liberation from the chains of the holding institute.
The prison service has come out to warn the general public that will be massing up at the entrance to welcome the editor not to do so. Fine, for whatever security reasons, I will urge supporters and loved ones of Ken Kuranchie as well as the general public to take the warning serious.
However, the security service can not prevent the public from converging at a more secured place not far from the prison yard to receive their beloved one back into their fold and that of the Ghanaian society for him to continue his good work.
Barring any last minute hold up, the Nsawam Prison Service will release Ken Kuranchie around 9:00a.m. Which is less than 24 hours from this time of filing this report from Toronto-Canada as Ghana now leads Canada in four hours.
It means by the time of his release, many Ghanaians who have been showing a lot of sympathy for Mr. Kuranchie in foreign destinations such as America and Canada will be lying in bed still left with couple of hours to go to work in the morning so will have the chance to listen to life report on his release via the internet.
Since it will be early in the morning 5:00a.m, many sympathizers of Ken here in North America can not celebrate his release therefore have scheduled it on the weekend. Hints picked up by this one time staff with Ken Kuranchie at Nana Kofi Coomson's The Ghanaian Chronicle Newspaper, has it that many Ghanaians are happy at least the anchor man is coming back into normal society.
Some say the attempt was to padlock the lips of Ken Kuranchie from criticizing the government of many wrong doings including corruption and failure to perform as promised Ghanaians.
However, they urged the editor, to take note of the huge potholes created for professional journalists and not get trapped in it again adding,� He should not keep quiet, but practice his profession with much decency this time round�.
Ken Kuranchie and Stephen Atubiga, were sentenced to serve different periods in jail as they were found guilty of contempt at Justice Atuguba's Election Petition Supreme Court.
