Mr Sunlight Campaigner Exposed!

He who pursues an innocent chicken always stumbles Yoruba Proverb. Following the two successive victories chalked by Comrade Martin Amidu, aka Citizen Vigilante, at the Supreme Court recently, many undeserving persons and institutions have sought to share in the success. Those who vehemently opposed his application in court have now turnaround to hail the victory; while officials who fronted for the companies to claim fictitious judgment debts shamelessly claim to have been vindicated. You heard right, Abusuapanin! Its obvious some of our compatriots do not know the meaning of the word vindicate. Or maybe the word has a different meaning in their dictionary. My Concise Oxford English Dictionary tells me the word vindicate originates from the Latin word vindicare, meaning claim or revenge. The word therefore means clear of blame or suspicion; or show to be right or justified. Obviously, those abreast of the judgment debt saga in this country would agree with me that the word is being abused. When the issue of judgment debt cropped up in December 2011, the dubious and bizarre payments planted seeds of suspicion in the minds of many of my compatriots. Many of us were more than convinced that it had become profitable to engage in the booming judgment debt business. We were clear in our minds that some ministers were being used as a conduit to siphon hard-earned cowries from the national kitty. We were therefore not surprised to see those who hitherto had skinny faces developing puffy cheeks. The world heard those of us who came out publicly to speak against legitimized bandits who were milking the state in the name of judgment debt. The world also heard those who publicly justified the dubious judgment debt payments. Saint Okudjeto Ablakwa, aka Sunlight Campaigner, and his ilk belong to the latter. One of the most talked-about judgment debt payments was the Isofoton SA saga. How did it become public knowledge? Most of us first heard of the Isofoton case from Saint Ablakwa when he started his Sunlight Campaign. Not only did he justify the claim Isofoton was making, he also succeeded in throwing mud at some members of the erstwhile Osono administration. Saint Ablakwa was basking in his temporal victory when the Citizen Vigilante stopped him in his track, revealing the messy faecal matter stashed in his anus in the process. The Citizen Vigilante revealed that Saint Ablakwa was not as clean as he wanted all to believe. He was unequivocal in his declaration that the Sunlight Campaigner did call to plead with him to settle the claim Isofoton was making. Ablakwa did not deny calling him, but insisted he was not fronting for the Spanish company. Following the accusations by Comrade Amidu and the denial from the Sunlight Campaigner, many of my compatriots were left in a confused state. They did not know who to believe. But I vividly recall my stance on the issue. I was not in doubt as to who to believe or disbelieve. I did not believe Saint Ablakwa because I do not believe shameless liars. I rejected Saint Ablakwas denial because I do not believe people who magically create 1.6 million jobs in the comfort of their bedrooms. I rather believed the Citizen Vigilante because he is an avowed apostle of truth and integrity. I believed Comrade Amidu because he is a man who abhors corruption and is ready to fight it no matter whose ox is gored. Saint Ablakwa and his cohort were finally shamed when the Supreme Court ruled that not only did Isofoton and Waterville, another dubious judgment debt payment, not have a contract, but it was a well orchestrated plan to create, loot and share. Those of us who believed in the Citizen Vigilante were eventually vindicated. Surprisingly, however, Mr. Sunlight Campaigner wrote a long piece citing all manner of voodoo reasons to justify why we should believe he and his ilk were rather the ones who had been vindicated by the courts ruling. Obviously, he does not know the meaning of the word vindicate. Or maybe the word has a different meaning in his dictionary. Abusuapanin, you remember the Galloper II Wagons saga, dont you? We woke up one morning only to be greeted by a story in the Daily Graphic that government risked paying a liability of $1.5 billion to Africa Automobile Limited (AAL), for breach of contract on the delivery of about 110 Gallopers. Once again, the bunkum was vomited by no other than Saint Ablakwa. He made it clear that the government was negotiating an out of court settlement with AAL. Abusuapanin, how we all went bananas! Once again, it was the Citizen Vigilante who exposed the diabolic intentions of Mr. Sunlight Campaigner and his group. Comrade Martin revealed that it was wrong for the government to go for an out of court settlement, when the Supreme Court had already ruled that AALs Pro Forma invoice could not pass for a valid contract. Since then little has been heard from Saint Ablakwa and his party on the issue. I, however, would dare to make a prophecy. Sooner than later, there will be another ruling against AAL. But do not be surprised when Mr. Sunlight Campaigner comes out to say he has been vindicated; for in his dictionary, the word vindicate has a different meaning from the one we all know. See you next week for another konkonsa, Deo Volente!
