Fuel Increment: Transport Operators To Come Out With "Realistic Fares Very Soon"

Prices of petroleum products have been reviewed, according to a statement chanced upon by tv3network.com. The review took effect from 6:00am July 17, 2013, the statement indicated. �Since the last adjustment of the pump prices of petroleum products on June 1, 2013, prices of petroleum products have experienced volatility on the international market,� it pointed out. Therefore, government conducted the review to achieve full pass-through petroleum prices, the statement said. Premium increases by 1.71 per cent from GHp 211.11 per Litre to GHp 214.73/Lt. While kerosene shoots from GHp 104.65/Lt to GHp 115.03/Lt, gas oil (diesel) goes up from GHp 211.11 to GHp 213.79, which is a 1.27 per cent increment. Premix recorded the highest percentage increase of 23.12. The price goes up to GHp 66.82/Lt. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) also increased by 6.18 per cent from GHp 200 per kilogram to GHp 212.35 /kg. Meanwhile, a release from road transport operators has announced a �delay� in any adjustment in transport fares. According to the Ghana Private Roads Transport (GPRTU) and the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC), they will �come out with realistic transport fares very soon�.
