Any Bad Ruling On The Election Petition Would Seriously Affect Generations To Come

The evil that men do lives after them and if the Supreme Court should pronounce an unfair judgment on the election petition ruling; it is evident generations to come would face the harsh repercussions. Lawyer Victor Kwadjoga Adawudu, is optimistic none of the nine judges would be influenced by the parties involved in the matter. As member of the National Democratic Congress legal team, he believes the judges would give a fair judgment on the petition. The New Patriotic Party, led by Nana Akuffo Addo, Mr. Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia filed a suit at the Supreme Court to contest the announced results of the December 7th general elections. His Excellency President Mahama, appeared as the first respondent, whereas the Electoral Commission of Ghana represented by Dr. Afari Gyan, was the second respondent and the NDC, entered the contest as a third respondent. After 46 days of heated debates in court, all the parties involved now await to present their addresses to the court to know their faith. The final determination of the case lies solely in the hands of the judges, and it is upon score that Lawyer Adawudu believes there would be no biased verdict. One thing I have always said is that any judge who believes he is a judge is not influenced by anything. This is because if they are to write any judgment, it would follow him and his descendents. There is integrity in the process and if you avoid demonstrating it, it would follow your generation throughout, Lawyer Adawudu says. For the avoidance of that spell, Lawyer Adawudu predicts none of the nine Supreme Court judges would commit an error.
