Exit Office Gracefully If You Lose Election Petition - Okudzeto Tells Mahama

A former President of the Ghana Bar Association, Sam Okudzeto has told President John Mahama to gracefully exit office if the Supreme Court rules in favour of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in the election petition case. Speaking at a National Peace Summit meant to prepare the minds of Ghanaians toward receiving the final verdict of the election petition trial, Sam Okudzeto said all the parties in the case must accept the final ruling. The law is quite clear, judgment will be given whatever way it goes, we must all accept it Mr. Okudzeto said. He added that if you are holding office and they say that you cannot hold that office anymore because that is what the law says...accept it...that is the only way we can live in peace and tranquility. My estimation is that on the 15th of August we are likely to receive a final decision. So let us all prepare ourselves for that and accept it as the way it would come and in good faith. Also at the summit was Bishop James Saah of Action Faith Chapel who said the verdict to be delivered in the next few weeks will put Ghanas reputation as a peace loving country to the test.
