The street edition of this year�s Vodafone Icons is in full flight and eviction of the contestants begins this week. This is the third in the series of the Vodafone Icons franchise which is aimed at identifying music talents and giving them the opportunity to shine. The main auditorium of the National Theatre was packed with supporters of the ten solo finalists who were there to watch their favourite contestants wow them and the judges. Winners of this year�s edition would be walking away with a record deal with one of the world�s biggest record labels �UNIVERSAL�, a cash prize of GHC50, 000, products from Samsung amongst many others. The final ten, who were put through tough training at bootcamp, had to go through another tough test � the comments of the judges. All three judges, Miss Naa, Apietus and Gena West did not mince words when judging the contestants. The competition which is set to be the most competitive yet had the finalists singing for their lives. Two of the marked favourites, Buda and Seed were in the bottom two last week but were given a reprieve as there were to be no evictions. To avoid your favourites from being evicted viewers are advised to text the contestants �name� and then YES however, if they don�t want a particular finalist to stay then they can text the persons �name and then NO to 3030 on the Vodafone Network or 1732 for all other networks.
