NLA supports Miss Ghana Foundation

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) on Friday declared its support for the Miss Ghana Foundation for helping the under privilege people in society over the years. �We share in the vision of beauty with a purpose, especially when this purpose bring smiles to the under privileged in society�. Brigadier General Martin Ahiaglo, Acting Director General of the NLA made the statement when Miss World 2012, Wenxia Yu and Miss Ghana 2013 contingent call on the management and staff of the NLA in Accra. The Miss Ghana delegation was also at the NLA premises to perform a Special Friday Bonanza draw. The NLA is the official sponsor of the Miss Ghana Foundation, which is working in deprive areas to help under-privileged people. Brig. General Ahiaglo stated that the NLA, apart from its regulatory function, generated revenue through the sale of national lotto into the Consolidated Fund for development as well as conducted lottery schemes with other institutions with the aim of offering support to the less privileged. He said the NLA had also made strides in the delivery of its social mandates such as supporting the less privileged, physically challenged and children in various societies through direct financial donations. He said, in order to enhance the capacity of the organization to deliver on its social mandate, the NLA had recently introduced the Caritas-Lottery platform as an additional revenue mobilization tool to augment its annual Corporate Social Responsibility budget. Brig. General Ahiaglo also stated that NLA had observed with keen interest what the Miss Ghana Foundation had been doing for the society over the years and as such were proud to be associated with them. �This is what the NLA also seek to bring and is conveyed in our vision, �Development through games,� he added. Brig. General Ahiaglo further stated that NLA was proud to be the official partner of Miss Ghana 2013. Ms Inna Marian Patty, Managing Director of Exclusive Events, organizers of the Miss Ghana pageant, said the evolution of the show had given young ladies the platform to exhibit their talents and beauty with a purpose. She said the launch of Miss Ghana Foundation was to ensure that projects initiated by beauty queens were not abandoned by predecessors when their term was over. She also commended the all finalists, who have worked hard to ensure the success of the Foundation. GNA
