Drinking Lots Of Milk Can Cause Ovarian Cancer

A Radiotherapist at the Sweden Medical Centre has encouraged lactating mothers to keep breastfeeding their babies until the required time (when they are to stop breastfeeding). This according to Mrs Alicia Sarpong Agyeman may reduce a woman's risk of ovarian cancer. Ovarian Cancer is a type of cancer that occurs in the ovaries. The risk of developing ovarian cancer is very low in young women and increases as women get older. According to some doctors, although ovarian cancer is rare in younger women, the types that do occur tend to be easier to treat than in older women. Speaking in an interview on Peace FM news, Mrs Agyeman added that if a family has a history of breast or colon cancer the likelihood of other women in the same family getting ovarian cancer is high. She therefore advised women of such history to do a regular check up. She indicated that the actual cause of ovarian cancer is not known however, recent studies have attributed drinking a lot of milk to it. It can be inherited if you have suffered from breast cancer, your risk of suffering from ovarian cancer may be high. Ovarian cancer cannot be detected in the early stages however; symptoms like pains in the abdomen, low back pain, and pelvic discomfort are prevalent she added. Meanwhile to prevent ovarian cancer, doctors have advised for frequent exercising. According to them, losing weight through exercise and having a balanced diet may help lower ones risk of ovarian cancer. Apart from that, it is known that regular exercise and a healthy, low-fat diet can help prevent all forms of cancer and heart disease.
