New York Film Academy Trains African Film-makers

The New York Film Academy (NYFA) will hold a training programme for film makers and other creative professionals in Nigeria under the auspices of the Del-York International, representative of the NYFA in Africa. The programme seeks to empower young creative Africans with the passion and skills needed to develop a more robust film industry. In a statement to the press, Miss Andrea Manuela Giaccaglia, Head; Marketing and Corporate Communications at Del-York, stressed that the NYFA had expressed delight at the prospect of training more Africans to become professionals in film making, multi-media and entertainment. She said Del-York was building on the success it recorded with the two previous trainings held in Lagos and Abuja, which saw 650 aspiring film makers and media professionals trained by 60 Hollywood�s top tutors from the Los Angeles and New York Campuses of the NYFA. �The training project which has been slated for the last quarter of the year will feature many courses including acting, directing, set design, production and film making. Others are final cut pro, 3D animation, screen writing, cinematography, digital photography, music video production, costume and make-Up, graphics and special effects as well as broadcast journalism,� Ms Giaccaglia pointed out. She said measures are in place to admit up to 1000 applicants to ensure that more participants benefit from the training programme.
