Sulley Muntari Eager For Ghana Victory Over Zambia

Sulley Muntari is confident Ghana will maintain cool heads in next month's final group stage match against Zambia in the qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Ghana are only a point away from reaching the final round but will need to edge past the reigning African champions, Chipolopolo in Kumasi on 6 September to keep their ambition of reaching a third consecutive finals. Muntari, who has been present in the Black Stars' two World Cup appearances is hopeful Ghana will avert any setback from their opponents after losing the reverse fixture 1-0 in Ndola. We want to go to Brazil and we are focused on qualifying," Muntari told FIFA.com. "We are committed to that goal. We are ready for them this time. It will be a tough game and we will do our best to win. We are on top of the group, closer to Brazil, and we want to finish it in grand style. Ghana sit at the summit of the Group D standings, one point ahead of Zambia. But with the Chipolopolo's getting the better of the Black Stars in their last two meetings - a semi-final triumph at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations and a win a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying -, there will be much at stake in their next meeting in Kumasi. "They have troubled us for a long time, have given us sleepless nights," he said. "But we are ready for them and want to make it big this time. We are poised to plant broad smiles on the faces of Ghanaians in Kumasi."
