Information Reaching Daily Guide on Wednesday had it that a second year General Arts student at the Ghana National College in Cape Coast, Marshall Ocansey, 17, was last week found dead on her bed at school. The body has since been handed over to the parents, who were invited to the school to be informed about the sad news. The body according to information has since been deposited at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Morgue for autopsy. However, the school authorities are preparing vigorously to join the family members to give her a befitting burial in Accra on Saturday 17, 2013. Briefing Daily Guide, a source at the school said the girl, who was an asthmatic patient, had not been well for some time now. The source added that the girl, due to her condition, refused to attend classes that day even though they were writing their end of the term exams. Information further had it that, none of the authorities bothered to find out why the girl refused to write the exams, since they claimed the girl frequently absented herself from class due to her condition. According to sources, her colleague returned from class in the afternoon and met their friend dead on her bed. The sources added that the school was reckless in handling the girl�s case as nobody asked about her whereabouts when it was obvious that she was not writing the exams. The parents, who are priest at Action Chapel in Accra, Daily Guide learnt, were not immediately informed about her death. When contacted, the headmaster of the school, E.T.K. Osan, dispute the allegation that the girl died on her bed at the school. According to him, the girl fell sick on Monday so the authorities decided to rush her to the hospital and on their way, she gave up the ghost around 6:30 pm. �I was not even at campus when I had a call that the deceased was sick and was being taken to the hospital,� he added. Mr. Osan hinted that they called the deceased parents immediately the incident happened, a situation which compelled them to come to the school on Tuesday �morning. The headmaster, who seems not to be comfortable to comment on the issue, instructed Daily Guide to attend the funeral ceremony or contact officials of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, if it wants information about the cause if the death of the girl.
