The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akyem Oda, Mr William Agyapong Quaittoo, has enjoined the nine member panel of Supreme Court judges to strive to give judgment on the 2012 election petition that would be acceptable to both the winning and the losing parties.
He also called on Ghanaians to accept the verdict of the landmark case in order to sustain the peace and unity of the nation.
In his view, the call had become imperative because any negative reaction by any of the contesting political parties could affect the stability and progress of the country.
The MP was interacting with the people of Akyem Aboabo in his constituency recently.
He appealed to all Christians and Muslims in the country to pray ceaselessly for the Supreme Court judges to embolden them to perform their legitimate duties without fear or favour.
Mr Quaittoo seized the opportunity to thank the people of Aboabo for voting massively for him in the 2012 parliamentary polls, which helped him to become their legislator.
He promised to reward them by undertaking a number of development projects in the community when he received his share of the District Assemblies Common Fund.
According to him, Ghanaians are facing economic hardships as a result of the mismanagement of the economy by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
Mr Quaittoo noted with concern that the NDC government had increased the national debt of GH�8.5 billion during the Kufuor administration to GH�39 billion currently.
He said Parliament had been compelled to go on recess due to lack of funds to carry out parliamentary duties.
In response to an appeal by elder Yaw Donkor, the assembly member for Aboabo, for improvement of the community�s water system, he said a water project was being undertaken by some Turks and Aboabo would be a beneficiary.
He said for the time being, he would sink one borehole to supplement the one his predecessor, Mr Owusu-Boateng provided for the community.
Earlier, the assembly member had appealed to the MP for a culvert around their newly constructed market and a public place of convenient for the Muslim community.
