Are These The People Left In NPP?...How Can An Elder Of A Party Talk Like That?

A leader is always expected to discharge his or her duties without being bias. He or she is also expected to be a unifier, especially in times of dispute. It is for this reason that Lawyer Kakra Essamuah has taken a swipe at Eugene Antwi, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPPs) National Council for asserting that Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe is indisciplined and is also being paid to criticize the NPP. According to Kakra Essamuah, who also doubles as a member of the Communications Team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), it was wrong for someone who happens to be a member of the second highest decision-making body in the NPP, to have poured invectives on a founding member of the party. I was sad when I heard Eugene Antwi, a member of the National Council talk that way. If someone does something you dont like, as a member of second highest decision-making body in the NPP, all you had to do was calm town tempersand not drop the bomb shell he did So I asked myself if these are the people left in the NPP? How can an Elder talk like that? How can you say Nyaho Tamakloe is indisciplined knowing very well the stature of the person you are talking about is not a child? Nyaho Tamakloe was seventy years on May 7th, the NDC man pointed out. Kakra Essamuah, who was a member of the NPP until he was summarily expelled from the party for supporting the then Candidate John Evans Attah Mills, as against his partys flagbearer, Nana Akufo Addo, in 2008, made these comments on Asempa Fm during discussions on the fallouts of the comments by the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, for which he was subpoenaed before the apex court of Ghana. Though Sir John apologized, he was found guilty of criminal contempt and a fine of GHC 5000 was imposed on him, but the Supreme Court stopped short of handing the NPP scribe a custodial sentence. Meanwhile, pressure is being mounted by a section of the party on Sir John to resign his position or be dismissed, for what they perceive as a disgrace to the party and a breach of the NPPs principles and ideals for which it was established. This call has however been championed by Dr. Tamakloe. This position has placed the founding member of the NPP in the line of fire of many who also believe that he was wrong in going to town with an internal party issue. Nonetheless, Lawyer Kakra Essamuah maintains that it was no justification for Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe to be verbally attacked the way Eugene Antwi did.
