Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, has inaugurated the newly-constituted Board of Directors for Asante Kotoko with a call on the members to institute comprehensive measures to foster accountability and transparency. �You should do well to follow proper accounting principles and run the club as a business entity�, he said. The Asantehene said that was the only way to check corrupt practices which had over the years stagnated growth in the club. ​ The ten-member Board has Paul Adu-Gyamfi, former President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) as Chairman. ​The others include Samuel Osei-Kuffour, a former Ghanaian football international, Mr. Kofi Dua Adonten, Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, Frank Apeagyei, Nana Ekuoba Kwadwo Gyasi, Jude Kofi Arthur, Nana Kwame Kusi, Otumfuo�s Ankobeahene, Mr. Joe Gyekye, representing old players, and Bernard Xiel, representing the supporters. ​ The new Board replaces the defunct Dr. K.K.Sarpong-led Board which had been dissolved amidst controversies. ​ Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11 tasked the Board to elect a Chief Executive Officer to run the day-to-day affairs of the club. Mr. Adu-Gyamfi, a former member of the defunct Board, thanked the Asantehene for the confidence reposed in them.
