The General Legal Council Must Immediately Discipline Tsatsu Tsikata - Nana Akomea

Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea has called on the General Legal Council with immediate effect discipline the lead counsel of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata in the just ended petition case. Nana Akomea described Mr. Tsikatas recent accusation that Justice Anin-Yeboah is an NPP member as an insult not only to the Judge but the entire elephant fraternity. Mr. Tsikata the lead counsel for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the just concluded Presidential Election Petition accused a member of the panel, Justice Anin-Yeboah of ruling consistently against the NDC. According to Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata in an interview with seasoned journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. claimed Justice Anin-Yeboah during the hearing of the 2012 election petition allowed his allegiance to former President Kufuor who appointed him to the Supreme Court to cloud his judgement. Tsatsu Tsikatas disagreeable comment has been condemned by many including former President Kufuor, the Peace Council, Ghana Bar Association and politicians who believe his utterances amounts to scandalizing the Supreme Courts ruling on 29 August 2013. Nonetheless, Nana Akomea on Asempa FM called on the General Legal Council to take immediate steps to discipline Mr. Tsikata to serve as a deterrent to others. Its a shame to a man of his legal standhe (Tsatsu Tsikata) has been a famous lawyer for a very long time. So if he could say such a thing to a Judge then he should be disciplined, he stated.
