Benin�s major power plant is to benefit from gas supply from Ghana as soon as the Ghana Gas project takes off.
This formed part of discussions between President John Mahama and Beninoi President Thomas Yayiboni when the two toured the Maria Gleta power plant in cotonou.
The plant is an emergency one which runs on aviation fuel currently.
Before his arrival at Benin, President Mahama made a two hour working visit in Lome, Togo where he held talks with President Faure Gnassingbe.
President John Mahama is on a two day state visit to Benin at the invitation of Beninoi President Thomas YayiBoni.
