2 Pesewas and Mila Evicted From MTN Hitsmaker

The dream of 2 Pesewas and Mila contestants of MTN Hitmaker Season Two to grab a GH100,000 album recording, distribution and marketing deal was shattered as they became the first two to be evicted. Garnering the least votes, the judges and organisers had no option but to let them go, even though Mila put up her best performance on the night, according to the judges and the audience. It was obvious some of the contestants had organised their own teams of supporters, and their noise continued until Olyvea, Mila and 2 Pesewas found they had the least number of votes. The three regular judges saved each of them from eviction, so emcee Bola Ray had no option but to rely on the public votes to announce that Mila and 2 Pesewas had come to the end of the road. An optimistic 2 Pesewas was grateful to the judges and contestants for appreciating his act and added that this was not the end of the road for him, but that Ghanaians should instead watch out for him because he is coming out with a hit-single soon. Mila is also hoping that her performance will get her a producer because she has a lot to offer Ghanaians and music is just what she wants to do. I am not disappointed in anyway because this is the nature of the competition; all I am hoping for is a producer to help me release my songs, because this is my life. It was an open race when the Prizners duo got the show going. The judges felt the props they brought on stage and the background took attention away from their substantive performance, but the public had a different opinion because Priznerz got enough votes to still stay in the contest. Olevya, K Bee, Koo Ntakara, Mila, Kofi Korea, 2 Pesewas, Kano Z, Rama, Adobea, Trozo and Quabyna then took turns to perform before the judges, comprising Bessa Simons, Zapp Mallet and Ofie Kodjoe. Nii Ayi Tagoe of Joy FM was a guest judge. Special prizes of Nokia phones and gift coupons were awarded on the night. K Bee grabbed the best performer prize and Quabyna walked away with the prize for the best-dressed. Producer-engineer Nana Fynn, who works with Olevya, was adjudged the best producer for the night. Two more contestants will be evicted in the next show on Sunday, September 15, with rapper Okyeame Kwame as guest judge. The MTN Hitmaker airs on Sundays at 8.30pm on Metro TV and GTV; 7.00pm on Saturdays on HitzTV and ETV Ghana; and 8.00pm on Saturdays on Crystal TV and Skyy TV.
