Mubarak Inspires Me a Lot Alhassan Wakaso

Rio Ave midfielder Alhassan Wakaso has spoken about how much he feels inspired by the performances of elder brother and established Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso. In an exclusive interview with footy-ghana.com from his base in Portugal, Alhassan noted that he learns a lot from Mubaraks performances, adding that he has become a better player for it. My brother really inspires me a lot. I learn so much from his performances and because of that, I am a better player today. Alhassan, who is competing in his first season in the Portuguese top flight, also told footy-ghana.com that his aim is to follow his elder brother into the Black Stars, adding that regular playing time would be crucial to making that happen. My goal for now is to follow my brother into the Black Stars. I believe I can achieve that and if I continue to work hard and play regularly for Rio Ave, I know I will get my chance. The right-footed defensive midfielder, who spent three seasons with lower league side Portimonense before signing for Rio Ave at the start of this season, says he hopes his performances land him a move to either England or Spain in the coming years. I have a three-year contract with Rio Ave and I intend to honour it, but I am also working very hard to ensure that I catch the attention of top clubs in England and Spain in the coming years. Alhassan has played in all of Rio Aves Primeira Liga games so far this season; playing three full games and being substituted in the other game. He was playing for lower league side Cheetah FC as a team-mate of Christian Atsu before his move to Portugal four years ago.
