Veteran hilife musician, Thomas Frimpong is reported dead. According to close sources Mr. Frimpong died on Wednesday morning September 18, 2013 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
Peacefmonline.com findings have revealed that he had been taken ill for sometime now, and been on admission at the hospital for the past one week, family sources say.Nurses at the facility taking care of him broke the sad news to his wife Joyce Mensah when she went there this morning on a routine visit.
According to family sources The late Frimpong died at the age of 70 and he was also survived by some 10 children.
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has expressed their condolence to the family of the late musician in a released statement that read:
"It is with sadness that the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) announces the death of renowned highlife artiste, Thomas Frimpong; which sad event occurred at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in the morning of Wednesday, September 18, 2013. Our hearts are with his family, especially his wife and children. May his soul rest in peace".
Thomas Frimpong will be remembered for all time Hilife hits like; "Menenamu", "Odo pa", "Dankwama" among others.
