Paintsil Confident In Stars WC Chances

Black Stars defender, John Paintsil is confident Ghana will brush aside Egypt to book a place in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. Painstil, 32, told GNA Sports We have the quality to beat Egypt and be in Brazil for our third World Cup. Egypt is a very good side but the current Ghana players are very motivated to go a step further and i know we can.' The defender anticipates a strong result when Egypt play as guest of the Stars in the first leg scheduled for Sunday, October 13, in Kumasi. We simply will have to beat then handsomely in the first game in Kumasi. It will be important to avoid conceding a goal at home and go out there and fight for a decent result.' Painstil, currently club-less expects the supporters who will throng the Baba Yara Stadium to play the twelfth man for the Stars who are seeking a third successive appearance at the global gathering of 32 teams. It is always encouraging to see the supporters and a full house at the stadium. It helps a lot because players do not play well under pressure, so once the supporters are there and cheer with kind words, it drives the team.' The winner over the two legs qualifies for the World Cup as one of Africa's five representatives on the continent.
