Jake Prays For Healthy Competition

NATIONAL CHAIRMAN of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, has admonished his party faithful, especially, those that are interested in contesting for positions in the party, to be decorous in their campaign. He sternly cautioned the NPP fraternity against campaign which is based on insults and insinuations, reminding them that the impending NPP poll is a party affair that should be devoid of insult. Mr Obetsebi Lamptey said the party should unite as one body to confront the NDC in the 2016 presidential polls. The NPP Chairman observed that if the NPP decide to insult each other, they would end up providing arsenals for the NDC which the ruling political party would throw at the NPP during the 2016 elections. He was addressing a colossal number of NPP supporters in the Ashanti Region when he and other party gurus stormed Kumasi to thank the party supporters for their unflinching support for the NPP during the last polls. The timely visit was also to offer the NPP kingpins the grand opportunity to commend the teeming NPP fans for standing firmly behind the party when the NPP contested the results of the 2012 polls at the Supreme Court. The NPP Chairman urged the NPP delegates to vote for people that would embark on campaign of ideas to transform the party which would eventually result in the rapid and effective growth of Ghana. He stated that embarking on campaign of ideas would help unite the NPP and make the party strong ahead of the 2016 polls. According to him, after tasting the bad leadership administration for about five years now, Ghanaians are now eager to see the NPP replace the NDC in the next polls so that they could transform the country. In this regard, he said, the NPP should not fail Ghanaians by fighting among themselves, noting that the largest opposition political party needed total unity and peace to face their common enemy, the NDC. Mr Obetsebi Lamptey urged his party faithful not to relax but rather start vigorous campaign for the 2016 national elections which is just three years away. He suggested that the NPP supporters should expose all the rots in the NDC administration so that the electorates would be aware of how the NDC was mismanaging the economy. This, he stated, would help the electorates to get a clearer picture of how bad the NDC is in terms of ruling the country, and this would enable them to vote massively for the NPP in the 2016 polls. Mr Obetsebi Lamptey observed that the country is currently being poorly managed by the NDC, citing the increasing number of unemployed graduates in the country to buttress his claim. He expressed concern that if nothing is done about the rising rate of unemployed graduates, crime rate among the youth would increase, an act which would be a worry to the entire populace. Mr Obetsebi Lamptey said the NDC would rely on vote buying just as they did during the 2012 polls to win the next elections, noting that the NDC would not have any message to woo the voters in 2016. He said if the 2016 elections are organized in a free and fair manner, then definitely, the NPP would wrest political power from the NDC and lead the country to the Promised Land.
