Egypt Set November 19 To Host Ghana On World Cup Playoff, Venue Still Undecided

Ghana will travel to face Egypt on 19 November in the second-leg of the World Cup qualifying play-off but the venue for the match has still not been decided despite the FIFA deadline elapsing. The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced that they will host the Black Stars on Tuesday 19 November in the match to decide which of the two countries will play at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. However, the EFA is yet to decide on the venue to host the game amid security concerns in the country. FIFA gave the deadline of last Friday for the team in the playoffs to decide the dates and venues for their matches but Egypt failed to meet the deadline pleading for more time given the dire security concerns in their country. The Egyptian team has been paired with Ghana in the World Cup play-off, and the Ghanaian football Association has set 15th of next month as the date for the first-leg in Kumasi. The Pharaohs are eyeing their first World Cup appearance since 1990, while Ghana are seeking to reach the tournament for the third consecutive time, having reached the quarter finals in their last appearance in 2010.
