New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong seems to regret his indignant reaction at former President John Agyekum Kufuor for allegedly personally driving him (Ken) out from his (Kufuor�s) house over his refusal to back the candidature of Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng ahead of the 2008 elections. He described Mr. Kufuor as a �perfect gentleman� but surrounded by sycophants, thus sometimes making it impossible for others to appreciate his (Kufuor�s) good deeds within the NPP party. Kennedy Agyapong was purported to have claimed that the former president drove him out of his residence in 2007, for not supporting Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng�s bid to become NPP�s flagbearer ahead of the 2008 polls. Clearly riled at the treatment meted out to him, he reacted by vowing not to visit Mr. Kufuor�s residence again after the unfortunate incident. But the former president, in a statement signed by his Special Aide, Frank Agyekum, discounted the report and described the accusation as absolute �falsehood and malicious�. ��no such discussion took place between him (President Kufuor) and Mr. Agyapong and therefore the said incident could not have happened�Mr. Agyapong�s assertion can just not be true,� the statement read. However, an obviously contrite Kennedy Agyapong, upon sober reflection over his comments, noted again on AdomFM, a day after his infamous emotive outburst, that �he (Prez Kufour) has been a wonderful man in his life so therefore he will apologize for saying that he will not visit Mr. Kufuor�s residence again� �I�m about to travel outside the country and Mr. Kufuor is also not in town, so when i return, I will go to his house and apologize to him,� he said. He is of the view that if �if Mrs. Konadu Agyemang Rawlings can visit Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, then why then must he (Ken) say he will not go to President Kufuor�s residence ever again.� Mr. Agyapong claimed that, some sycophants want to destroy his �fatherly� relationship with Mr. Kufuor but he will go the extra mile to reunite with him but insisted that he was indeed sacked from the former president�s house.
