Miracle Or Stolen Child?

A 26-year-old woman arrested for allegedly stealing a 14-month-old child claims the child is a special miracle child given to her by God. She told that police that God healed her five-month-old son of Down Syndrome (Mongol) and transformed him into a 14-month-old child overnight. The suspect, Nicholina Agbesi, who is in the grips of the Accra Regional Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) for stealing the child, said she even went to church with family members to thank God for the great miracle. Nicholina is accused of swapping her baby suffering child during immunization at the Childrens Hospital in Accra. According to The Finders sources, on September 20, 2013, one Ramatu Yakubu sent her one-year-two-month-old baby to the Childrens Hospital for immunization. Ramatu told the police that while at the hospital, she met Nicholina at the entrance of the hospital carrying her five month-old baby at her back. They both entered the hospital premises, but Nicholina eventually changed into a white nursing attire and exchanged her baby with Ramatus son, with the explanation that she was going inside to bring a folder for Ramatu. The baby thief, Nicholina, went and never returned. Ramatu quickly informed hospital authorities, who said they have no idea of a nurse who fits Ramatus description. According to our sources, Ramatu then filed a complaint at the James Town Police Station but was referred to DOVVSU. Yesterday, Septemebr 30, the police had information that Ramatus baby was seen with Nicholina at La, a suburb of Accra. The police, together with Ramatu, proceeded to Nicholinas house at La, where the stolen child was found sleeping. Ramatu identified the child as her stolen son and Nicholina was then arrested. Upon interrogation, the child thief denied stealing the child and told the police that she has been praying for healing for her Down syndrome son and when she got up one morning, she found her five-month-old son healed and transformed into one-year-two month-old baby. According to Nicholina, she informed her relatives and they went to church to thank God for the miracle. Nicholina said she is married to a man who had travelled to South Africa for the past seven months.
