Pregnant Woman Collapses And Dies At Spanish Airport

A young pregnant Briton has died at an airport in Spain as she prepared to board a flight home after a family celebration. A spokeswoman for Catalonia's regional emergency health service said the 21-year-old woman was dead by the time an ambulance arrived at Girona airport. The woman died on Tuesday afternoon at Girona airport in the north east of the country, east of Barcelona. She was three-to-four months pregnant at the time. The woman, who has not been named, was returning to Birmingham following a holiday to mark her grandmother's 70th birthday. Reports in Spain said the woman died after feeling sick and collapsing in an elevator at the airport. She was reported as feeling dizzy before she vomited and collapsed in front of her horrified relatives, including her sister, who desperately tried to revive her.
