We call them nerds, 'booklong', bookworm and even antiso as they're are always seen with their heads buried in one book or the other. For these young men and women, their aim to reach high and leave an indelible mark on the minds of people with their intelligence is their passion. Many are these young men and women who for academic purposes and the desire to be named amongst Ghana�s intellectuals saw them at the premises of the British Council for a shot at Ghana�s biggest prize on TV-The Challenge Season 5! The audition was intense as the participants went through aptitude test to enable the best be shortlisted and progress to the next stage. There was joy and tears as names of participants who passed the aptitude test were called out. Some went home disappointed and had the zeal to try out next year. Headline sponsored by telecoms giant, TIGO, the show has seen over 10 Ghanaian University graduates take up various courses at the University of Westminster, Thames Valley and London Metropolitan all in London, as well as the Robert Gordon University in the oil hub of Europe, Aberdeen, Scotland. This Season, which happens to be the fifth and coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the British Council, is set to be the biggest with over 100,000 pounds in scholarships from 3 of the very best universities in the UK; Northampton University, University of Salford in Manchester and the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. The final set of contestants on the show each gets a laptop from IPMC, loaded with Data from TIGO, Mobile phones from TIGO, tons of souvenirs from other sponsors and for the very first time, a whopping 5000 pounds cash to be invested with Beige Capital for the overall winner. It was no wonder therefore when hundreds of bright and ambitious university graduates turned up for a shot at what has now come be fully accepted as Ghana�s biggest and most relevant prize on TV.
